Parenting through a Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder can be really difficult and isolation plays a major role in the severity of symptoms. Our weekly support group creates an opportunity to connect with others who have similar lived experiences.

Our goal during this group is to:

-Create a safe place to share your feelings and experiences
-Reduce isolation by connecting with others in the community who have shared experiences.
-Provide validation and encouragement.

We offer both in person and virtual weekly support groups. Please choose what work best for you!

Perinatal Health Coordinator BSW, Certified Birth & Reproductive Trauma Specialist (CC-BRT)

I recently completed my Bachelor of Social Work degree from the U of R, with my studies focusing on mental health and addictions; childhood development; grief and loss; and biopsychosocial and community perspectives to health care. I have also taken specialized training in perinatal mental health and birth and reproductive trauma.

I am passionate about perinatal mental health care in Saskatchewan because I lived through prenatal anxiety and postpartum depression after the birth of my son in 2017. It was an incredibly isolating experience to feel alone in my struggles, and I experienced first-hand how complex (and sometimes frustrating!) navigating public mental health systems could be. I also understand the mental load that comes with being a new parent, as well as the stigma that comes with experiencing a perinatal mood disorder. Through my own experiences and professional training, my hope is to offer social support in a judgment-free space, help carry the mental load of motherhood, and provide community resources and connections so other parents don’t feel like they have to walk this path alone.

I currently live in Regina with my husband and our two children, welcomed in 2015 and 2017.
