This brand new childbirth series is
designed to provide a solid baseline of
education for expectant parents while focusing on many practical and hands- on skills couples can benefit from when their labour day arrives.
Our goal is to help you become educated and open-minded so you're better prepared for the day your labour begins.

Class 1: Welcome/Overview

-Introductions and goal setting
-Current birth culture (Fear and where it comes
from)
-Common misconceptions in the media
-Communicating your needs
-Birth plans (Pros & Cons)

Class 2: Fundamentals of Childbirth

-Anatomy (understanding your body)
-Stages of labour (what to expect)
-Pain management
-Hormones
-Due Dates/Inductions (what to expect)

Class 3: Hands-on Comfort Measures

-Position changes
-Odd labour patterns/ overcoming back labour
-How to get through transition
-Epidurals (How to keep moving with one/How to avoid one if you wish)
-Alternative health care providers (Massage, Chiropractic, Physio etc)

Class 4: Preparing for the Postpartum

-The reality of fourth trimester/Baby’s expectations
-Developing reasonable expectations
-Healing and what to expect
-The importance of touch/skin on skin/Other bonding activities
-Maternal mental health /Risk factors/Signs & Symptoms
